Why do you teach at SPINCO?
I began the instructor journey with barely any experience, nor any expectations. I wanted to challenge myself outside of my own comfort zone - to become ‘comfortable with being uncomfortable’. I shortly viewed the influence of the positive and energized community at SPINCO, and saw personal growth both on and off the bike. I wanted to spread that feeling through teaching at SPINCO, while providing a safe and fun environment for both growth and inspiration!
What motivates you to get on the bike every class?
The desire to be the best version of myself. The reward of seeing both personal growth and small achievements in each rider. Feeling the energy of the room is my motivation - it’s a more powerful addiction than caffeine!
What do you want your riders to get/feel from your class?
I want them to feel accomplished and empowered at the end of the 50 minutes. I want them to acknowledge that fun can be included into the equation of reaching their goals both physically and mentally. I hope that the riders feel safe within the four walls to be able to push their boundaries and to level up!
What is your favourite type of music to ride to?
If there was a genre of “Throwback Remixes”, that would be my jam!
Quote to live by:
“Look for something positive in each day, even if some days you have to look a little harder”.
Where can you find me off the bike?
You can find me rollerblading to work, tandem biking through Sackville, or strolling around town with my pooch, Kato!
Favourite day off activity?
Making it a mini vacation full of short adventures - including an outdoor activity and visiting a quaint café or having a picnic!
