Why do you teach at SPINCO?
I grew up believing I wasn't athletic. I wasn't naturally gifted at team sports and so I let myself believe that when it came to any sort of physical activity I just wasn't made for it. I discovered SPINCO and I finally found my team; a space where I was challenged and accepted no matter my ability. I felt strong and empowered every class I took. I was motivated to keep moving, I realized that I was strong, and that fitness was for every person and every body. I teach at SPINCO because I want to help others who may be like me to silence that voice that says "I can't". I want to help everyone who takes my class to leave with more self love and acceptance, grace for where they've come from, and a realization of how strong they are. If you've never had a team, come ride with me, there's always room on my team!
What motivates you to get on the bike every class?
I am motivated by a desire to see how strong I can get. I love seeing my progress each and every class, whether it's making it more easily through a track I wasn't able to before, or having a more positive attitude towards my body and my journey. I can't remember ever leaving the studio with a less positive outlook than when I walked in. On the days my own strength isn't enough, it's the energy of the SPINCO community that keeps me motivated, the encouragement and drive of the team gives me the push I need to ride strong every class!
What do you want your riders to get/feel from your class?
I want every rider to leave my class feeling more empowered and enabled to face whatever challenges they are going through. I want them to know they aren't alone, and to realize they have strength to do hard things both on and off the bike. I want my riders to always feel like they are enough just as they are. In my class we work hard with what we bring to the table, but that is different for each person. Everyone is welcome.

Where can we find you off the bike?
Off the bike you can find me working my day job as a registered nurse, hiking locally (and internationally- I love to travel!), or picking wildflowers at my family's cabin!
